2026 Mostyn Law Empowerment & Justice Scholarship

At Mostyn Law, we have built our reputation on a single foundation: holding the powerful accountable. Whether we are fighting against negligent manufacturers or advocating for those whose lives have been upended by injury, our mission is to ensure that victims are heard and justice is served. Our founder, Amber Mostyn, has spent her career navigating complex medical device and injury cases, witnessing firsthand the profound impact negligence has on a person’s life.

To empower the next generation of advocates, we are offering the Mostyn Law Empowerment & Justice Scholarship. This initiative encourages students to think critically about the physical and psychological ripple effects of negligence. We are looking for applicants who can articulate a vision for a safer, more compassionate future, an extension of the advocacy Amber Mostyn practices daily in the courtroom and through her philanthropic work with Amber Cares.

“True justice requires holding powerful entities accountable and protecting the community’s well-being. This scholarship is my investment in students who are ready to move mountains for those in need.” Amber Mostyn

Application Deadline: November 30, 2026

Award Amount: $1,000

Eligibility

  • The scholarship is available to current high school seniors, vocational students, college students, or graduates who are legal residents of the United States, living in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia, and enrolled in a vocational program or a two- to four-year post-secondary institution.
  • Employees of Mostyn Law, their immediate family members (parents, children, siblings, and spouses), and individuals living in the same household (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate in the competition.

Candidates for this scholarship must hold a minimum GPA of 3.0 and maintain good overall academic standing.

Application Requirements

  • The candidate must fill out the form below with all necessary information
  • Applicants are required to submit an original essay of 750–1,000 words addressing one of the two prompts below
    • Prompt A: Standing Up for Victims of Defective Products. If you discovered a product had a design flaw or an inadequate warning label capable of causing serious injury, what proactive steps would you take to alert your peers and pressure the manufacturer to implement safety changes?.
    • Prompt B: Healing After Injury. Reflect on the psychological toll of a traumatic event caused by negligence. In your view, how can the legal and judicial systems improve their recognition and validation of the deep mental health impacts experienced by victims?
  • Please note: Applicants must choose only one of the two prompts to address in their essay. We are looking for a deep, focused examination of a single topic rather than a broad overview of both. Submitting multiple essays or combining both prompts into a single response will result in your application being disqualified.
  • Please be advised that all submissions undergo rigorous screening for AI-generated content. Any application found to contain AI-assisted writing will be immediately disqualified.
  • The candidate must submit a professional résumé that lists their professional and academic experience.
  • The candidate must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school and the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students can submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
  • Preference will be given to students either from or attending secondary school in Texas.

The recipient of the 2026 Mostyn Law Empowerment & Justice Scholarship will be chosen during the month following the scholarship deadline.
