Our founder, Steve Mostyn, set out to create a uniquely different Texas law firm that aggressively levels the playing field for individuals and fights to protect people from corporate negligence and wrongdoing in Texas and across the country.

Steve grew up in Whitehouse – a small East Texas town.  He graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1996, and in 1997 he began his legal career. Steve quickly became a partner in a Houston, Texas law firm, but soon decided he could become a stronger advocate for people’s rights by creating his own law firm.

Before long, Steve, Amber, and the Mostyn Law team responded to the devastation of Hurricanes Rita, Ike and Superstorm Sandy by reinventing the practice of first-party insurance litigation. Steve’s tenacity led to investigations of scandal at Texas Windstorm Insurance Association, FEMA, legislative reforms, and to millions of dollars in settlements paid by insurance companies that wrongly denied or underpaid claims.

After becoming a leader in first-party insurance litigation, and more than a decade of fighting for consumer’s rights against insurance companies and corporate greed, Steve decided it was time to expand Mostyn Law’s focus.  In recent years, Steve and Amber built a team of experienced attorneys and professional staff and began fighting for victims of negligence and wrongdoing by medical device manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies.

On November 15, 2017, Steve Mostyn passed away far too young at the age of 46.   Steve changed thousands of lives for the better in his short time on Earth.  He will forever be remembered as a tireless and fearless fighter for justice in and outside the courtroom.

Now more than ever, Amber Mostyn and the Mostyn Law team are committed to continuing the good work Steve started.  Mostyn Law’s highly-experienced team of attorneys and professional staff are just part of the great legacy Steve Mostyn left behind.
