In the spring of 2012, two hailstorms tore through Hidalgo County, Texas, causing an estimated $260 million in damage to local businesses and homes. According to the National Weather Service, winds in the area reached as high as 75 miles per hour with hail up to the size of baseballs. In some areas, as much as six inches of hail accumulated on the ground.
Two years later, many residents and business owners were still struggling to rebuild and be fairly compensated for their damages by insurances companies. For months following the storms, victims moved into hotels or stayed with relatives while awaiting insurance company decisions on repair costs.
Mostyn Law was on the ground after the storms working with clients to restore the damage. Attorneys from the firm were appointed to serve as Plaintiff’s Liaison Counsel for thousands of hailstorm cases in the Rio Grande Valley and after countless courtroom hearings, as well as months of battling the insurance companies, we have successfully resolved many of our clients’ Valley hail damage lawsuits so that they could finally receive the compensation they deserved and get back to their lives. We continue to fight for our clients with unresolved cases.
