FEMA extends deadline

Granting Mostyn law’s request, FEMA has extended the deadline to file proof of loss for one year

In the wake of the devastation from Hurricane Harvey, on August 30, 2017, Steve Mostyn wrote the FEMA Administrator Brock Long requesting an extension of the 60-day proof of loss deadline for Harvey victims.

Steve discussed this extension request with ABC Eyewitness News’ Miya Shay and FEMA LISTENED!

On September 3, 2017, FEMA granted our request! (CLICK TO SEE FEMA EXTENSION LETTER) The deadline for submitting a compliant proof of loss for Hurricane Harvey is now 365 days (one year) from the date of loss. This is a welcome relief for many homeowners who still cannot even access their homes to assess the damage.
